Leave time between village and nature stops

Montville village browsing can be an easy-going outing, while a national park walk adds a different level of time and effort. Decide which matters most before planning the route. A village visit, lunch and a scenic stop are often more enjoyable than trying to fit in a long walk as well.

A comfortable plan

Check the gradient and surface of any walking route. For a group, agree where to meet after browsing and leave time to return to the pickup point.

The village

Browse the main street’s shops and galleries and allow time for lunch or afternoon tea. Shops may have steps or differing access arrangements; check directly when step-free entry is essential. Group meal bookings should include dietary needs and a realistic arrival window.

Kondalilla National Park

Kondalilla is a nearby nature option, but a waterfall walk is more demanding than a village visit. Check the current route, steps, closures and conditions with Queensland Parks. Avoid assuming that a short stop allows enough time for the full walk, or that every traveller can complete it comfortably.

Lake Baroon and scenic stops

The Lake Baroon area offers another way to enjoy the hinterland landscape. Choose a specific accessible stopping point and check current access before setting out. A scenic outlook, picnic and longer walking route each require a different amount of time and preparation.

Suggested visit

Spend the morning in the village, enjoy a booked lunch and choose one scenic or nature stop for the afternoon. Walking groups can instead make the park the main event and keep village time shorter. Build the itinerary around the least flexible activity.

Combine with Maleny

Maleny and Montville can be paired in a hinterland day, but a food tour, long rainforest walk and extensive shopping itinerary are unlikely to fit comfortably together. Choose the two or three experiences that matter most and leave time between them.

Practical planning checklist

  • Check current attraction hours, road conditions and park alerts before travelling.
  • Ask about step-free access, walking distances, toilets and vehicle access for anyone with mobility needs.
  • Carry water and sun protection. Swim only where conditions and patrol advice allow; follow the red and yellow flags.
  • Use Translink to check current public transport options and connections.
  • Confirm admission, meals, tastings and pickup arrangements in writing. They are included only when specified in your booking.

Plan a private or group day

Email your preferred date, passenger numbers, pickup address, return time and the stops that matter most. Include children’s ages, mobility requirements and any luggage. We will confirm availability, price and applicable terms before you commit. An enquiry does not reserve a tour, and cancellation conditions depend on the confirmed service.
